MART is the museum of modern art of Trento and Rovereto and it is the most famous museum of Trentino, with thousands and thousands of visitors every year coming from the rest of Italy and abroad. The impressive building conceived by Mario Botta together with Giulio Andreolli has a surface of 12000m², 6000m² of which are dedicated to the art of the 20th and 21st century. 5000m² are used as a study and research facility as well as for didactics and services. On the ground floor there is a reception, a computer area, services open to the public, the bookshop, the cafeteria, a conference room and a cloakroom. The basement hosts the 20th century archive and a library. The first floor accommodates temporary expositions, the didactics´ section and the offices. On the second floor, on 3800 m², you will find our permanent exposition, a rich collection of Italian art featuring some international works, from the Futurism to contemporary art. The didactics´ section organises work-shops for schools, for the public and for families, holds professional updating courses for teachers, and offers guided tours and didactic expositions.
